Take me thereJAPAN’S FIRST SOCIETY CERTIFIED BAR
There are about 100 single malts from Scotland. The casque strength of the original barrel’s sake is a whiskey with the same bottle shape but different contents. The bottles each have a poetic title.
Society History
The Scotch Malt Whiskey Society (SMWS) was founded in 1983 in Rees, the old port city of Edinburgh.
Malt enthusiasts gathered and bought the whole barrel from the distillery and enjoyed it with their friends.
The taste of the whiskey was wonderful, and the fellows called them and the syndicate quickly evolved to form a society.
The purpose of SMWS is to love, share, deepen awareness, taste and enjoy whiskey, the world’s finest spirits.
At present, members from all over the world are joining, and there are branch offices in 14 countries (USA, Switzerland, Netherlands, Italy, etc.), and the number of members is over 30,000.
